In an interview with Clark Strand, titled after his best selling book, The World Without Us, Weisman speaks about global warming, population control, and what the world would look like without humans. The woods of beech and silver fir towered over us, in places almost touching across the road. The author says that we've basically become a volcano that hasn't stopped erupting since the 1700s. Their roots sprawled over mossy boulders. "The World Without Us" is an excellent speculative look at how this process would play out if all of humanity were disappear. Beyond nature's glorious design, as this book recounts, our hands and minds have worked to shape, build, plant and populate as much of this planet as, well, humanly possible. What might the world be like without hatred?
